Speaker 1:

Hey guys, ryan DeMint, hope you guys are having a great day. Today on the podcast, I want to talk about getting through the challenges of life, which translates to entrepreneurship and business, and what I'm trying to get to you guys this week is short, sweet and to the point. Our mindset and how we view ourselves is critical for us to succeed in business. If we're constantly having anxiety, negative thoughts and not being able to effectively focus on revenue generating tasks, how are we supposed to get ahead in life? How is our business supposed to take off and scale? How are we supposed to make money? We don't, and I can only tell you this from experience because I've been struggling with it for many, many months, and I can tell you, the one thing that I have to do on a daily basis is I write down the tasks that I need to do daily to one, keep me focused. Two, to make sure that I'm going after revenue generating steps or actions. And three, making sure I am hyper-focused on the to-do in front of me, not looking back, not looking forward, looking straight at in front of me, because in the end, that's all we have and if I continue to look all these directions, nothing will happen. I'll continually be in this cycle to where I will stay flat. So, guys, if you're flat right now in your business, you need to make sure that you're focused on revenue generating tasks, and the only way to do that and I'm struggling through it, but I'm getting better is time blocking. I'm using two to three hours every single day just to focus on my revenue generating steps.

Speaker 1:

The other aspect that I'm working on and it's not quite there yet is I'm going to start using AI to make outbound cold calls. I don't particularly like them. I do okay with them, but I think I could be doing more productive items than making cold calls. I'm a good closer. I'm passionate about the business. I want to make sure that I'm doing what I possibly can to close deals but also push the company over the top, so I've been working on developing an AI bot. I'm also talking to a cold caller that's going to do between 10 and 15 hours a week in cold calls. I'm going to measure the two and I'm going to see how well they do. Do I use a combination of both? Yes, the other piece that I'm working on and again, it's time consuming, but I have to do it at night or during my non-productive hours in the morning is automation. Everybody talks about it, but can you actually deliver it?

Speaker 1:

And one of the things that has become my best friend over the last several months is Fiverr. Fiverr is a great place to be able to find individuals that have the skill set you're looking for to get a job done. And by no means, guys, I'm not pushing Fiverr on you. I don't have a connection there's no paid media with this whatsoever. It's just works very well for me. I've had some really great people and I've had some not so great people, but Fiverr always protects your purchase and it does work well.

Speaker 1:

So, guys, along with Fiverr, one of the things that I'm really pushing myself on is time management. The time blocking works great, but the time management has to come into play, because I have an issue, and I'm going to admit to it is I have FOMO, fear of missing out. So when I am time blocking in the morning making my phone calls, I have my phone on. Do not disturb. And when I first started doing that, when I should back up, when I first started doing time blocking, my phone was not on. Do not disturb. And guess what happened. Every time I got a text or a call, I would stop to see who it was and then make a decision, continue to stop and look at my phone and try to figure out do I answer it or not. But the challenge there was I was afraid if they called and I didn't pick up I would lose the deal. Mindset shift. Here we go. It's an abundance piece If they continue to call or they're calling they want to do business with me.

Speaker 1:

The thing that I've started and I have not finished because I need to update it is my voicemail greeting. Set an expectation for your clients for when you're going to call them back. I have not done that yet. I do talk to people, I do tell them, but I don't think they remember. So one of the things that I'm going to do this week is I'm going to update my voicemail recording and let them know that I return phone calls in the afternoon. If someone texts me while I'm on, do Not Disturb. I think I can do an auto message on my Apple excuse me on my iPhone and be able to tell them that hey, I'm busy right now. I'll get back to you. Heading those expectations also alleviates anxiety for me, because I am anxious to get back to you. Heading those expectations also alleviates anxiety for me, because I am anxious to get back to them and understand where they're at, and that is a problem because then it takes me away from my revenue generating tasks.

Speaker 1:

The other thing, and last but not least, that I'm focused on is being present for my VA, and I'm soon to bringing on a second VA. If they have questions and I'm not available for them, and if it's during my first three hours of the day they already know this they know that I'm time blocking. I'm busy then, but if at any other time I'm available, I should answer very quickly. Sometimes I get distracted because I've got the FOMO going on with phone calls and text messages that I'm trying to get back in the groove on and get back to people, and then I get back to them. They need to be my top priority because they're doing work that I do not like doing and I'm not good at. They're handling my social media, they're doing my videos, they're doing the editing, they're doing the podcast stuff. They're doing everything that is critical for the business to scale but does not physically generate revenue right out of the start.

Speaker 1:

And lastly, guys, the only way I know how to say this is you have to take that step forward to the unknown and just go after it, because, in the end, if you're not focused in on these revenue generating tasks, you're not going to win in life and in business. And I'm going to back up and digress to one thing Whether you're religious, spiritual, believe in God, the universe, whatever, one of the things that you have to do every single day is have a quiet mind when you get up. Whether you read a Bible, devotional, you actually have some type of journal, whatever that is, you need to find that happy, quiet place to start your day, for that mindset, and that mindset has to be positive and full of abundance. Otherwise you're not going to get the job done for the day, for the week, for the month, for the quarter, for the year, and that will not allow you to scale. Guys, I hope you have a great one. I'll see you guys on the other side. Stay safe, stay healthy.
