Guys, have you had one of those weeks where you're on the brink of something great and you just are fighting through to get there? This last several weeks I've been dealing with deals on my lending side and deals on our investing side slash development and I really thought I was going to lose these deals altogether. And then yesterday, with the grace of the man upstairs a great team to help us find a way to one save a deal but also get it closed quickly. I think we're on the road to where the dam is going to open and it's going to break free of all the other deals and it's just going to start flowing. Am I excited that there is some turn in all this? Yes, the best way I know how to describe this is frustration, hope, excitement, but better yet, being persistent in trying to find a way to make these deals.
Speaker 1:Work is huge and there were plenty of times during this process to where I felt that it was not going to get done. I was hitting roadblock after roadblock and the way I took the approach was trying to do a little block and tackle and determine where the challenges were, and every single time I got overwhelmed with three, four, five, six, seven challenges that were just roadblocking me, and the best way to describe it is being hit from multiple angles and not being able to find your way out of it. It's like you're in the forest you can't see the light, you can't see the sun and you have troubles. That's where I was at. The only thing that I know that really helped me was, of course, god and asking for guidance. Whether you believe it or not, the universe, it's all one piece Great, but the other thing is making sure that I believed in myself, that I could have an outcome. Am I going to win every single time? No, but I should be able to hedge my bets and be able to stack it in my favor to where I can win and I can expand the business and grow it.
Speaker 1:It's just been a rocky road, and one of those things that I'm still struggling with and I know is still a challenge is I work in the business because it's just me and virtual assistants. I have to find a way to where I can stop working in the business and start working on the business, and I know I've talked about this in prior episodes, but I'm really at the point now to where, if I don't find the help to get me out of the business and start working on it. It's going to be a huge detriment to the business, to myself, my mindset. There's just so many other things that go with it.
Speaker 1:Is it hard to say that I need to give up everything? I'm doing Somewhat? If you would ask me a year and a half, two years ago, it would have been yes, now it's. I need to get this stuff off my plate so I can get stuff done. But at the same time I've got to worry about finding a right fit for the position that I'm looking to bring in and then make it work within a budget and I'm not trying to be cheap, but I'm also not trying to overspend.
Speaker 1:There's a balancing act that I'm trying to do there and pull different levers. The only way I know how to get past all of it is to go, do it, get past my limitations and make it happen. And the only way to make it happen is put myself in uncomfortable situations to where I find a way around the roadblock, going through it around it, whatever. However, you want to look at that. Challenges in the business that I haven't faced before that's where I'm at. Believe me for my prior life in corporate America, I've hired hundreds, if not thousands, of people. I can't remember, but in the end, this would probably be the most crucial or critical hire that I would make for the business, just for the simple fact I'm trying to get it right.
Speaker 1:I need to find somebody that has skills that compliment me, and maybe they're not the 100%, but they allow us to move forward, get better as a business and continue to grow. Maybe this person's a stepping stone, maybe this person falls into a different role I don't know, but in the end, I can't what's the saying analysis by me but also have the drive to do better than what they're doing today and they're willing to take a little risk, because there is risk in this, by all means there's. In so many words, this is like a startup and this would be employee number one, and that person is taking a leap of faith, just like I'm taking a leap of faith on him or her. So I'm out looking for somebody, I'm talking to people, I'm getting into rooms. The other thing I'm trying to do is I'm trying to streamline each of the businesses through automation whether it be AI or also through some type of form to where we can streamline, intake our deals as they come through.
Speaker 1:That's been a challenge. We are getting better at it, but at the same time we're struggling and I need somebody else there in that place to be able to help me but also guide me with the right technology, because I truly don't know what the right technology is. Yeah, I know enough, but not enough to be saying this is what the best route to be or the best route we should go to get us to that next step. I've got ideas, but those ideas are not always going to be translatable into action. So, having somebody in that space too, and lastly, guys, personally, mindset wise, it's been a struggle the last several weeks just with these deals and the deal flow, blockage and my mindset is gone in several directions.
Speaker 1:One is lack thereof, not having confidence in myself to be able to get through it. But it's also an evolution too, through the business journey, the entrepreneurship journey me personally and spiritually it's a journey. Me personally and spiritually it's a journey and to say that's very difficult to swallow at times when you continue to get beat down. Persistence, mindset and having your base of family, god, spiritual universe, whatever you're looking at, those things all have to come in a line and be able to support you from the ground up, because if you don't have that solid foundation, nothing works.
Speaker 1:But having yourself a mindset of not really there's no give up. You have to push forward. You got to get through it all. Even when the crap is hitting the fan, you find a way to get through it. And that's that has been the most difficult, daunting challenge the last several weeks is knowing that there's an end result and the end result will be positive.
Speaker 1:I didn't see that every single day. I struggled with it every single day because there just wasn't. There was days where there potentially could be an end, but not anymore. There is truly an end. I see the end of these deals and getting them flowing the forest. I did not see it. I was surrounded by a bunch of darkness and I didn't know where to go, and it was just making sure I had vision, eyeballing, straightforward and not giving up and plowing through.
Speaker 1:So, guys, I know it's a little bit of a Debbie Downer, but it's also mindset. I wholeheartedly believe mindset can get you through anything. But the other piece that you have to be grounded to is understanding that there's something bigger than all of us God, universe, spirituality. Whatever you want to do, you have to have a base in that. That will lead you to the right place. That will help you get to a better space in your mind, but also have faith Live. I'm all about peace. I want to live in peace through faith. That is what I'm trying to do. Hope you guys have a good one.
