Speaker 1:

Does your business have purpose and passion? This week, guys, I want to talk about where I've gone off the rails a little bit when it comes to purpose, passion and why for the business, but also talk about how those three things can really change your business for forever. I know we all got into business to make money, secure our financial future, take care of our families and so forth, but you got into the business because you had a purpose, you had a why, you had a passion for whatever it is technology, ai, real estate, being an architect, a realtor, whatever. You have a why and on this journey that I've been on, I could tell you this my purpose and my why has been convoluted about worrying about getting deals done, about worrying about getting deals done, and I truly lost direction when it came. Why did we get into this business? We got into this business to help people buy a home that otherwise could not, and if they can't buy one of our homes, we have an option to be able to lease a home work on your credit. During that time, we'll give you a predetermined purchase price at the beginning.

Speaker 1:

I've lost a lot of that hype and direction just for the simple fact of I'm worried. I got too many other things on my head when it comes to life, like we all do, and I lost my direction and faith in knowing that I need to put my life on God's hands, making sure that I'm faithful and going through a path of serving others, and that's what is really. A main focus for me is serving others and guys. For the longest time, and guys for the longest time, I really thought serving others was about money. It could be time, it could be service, it could be listening. There's so many things you can do for service of others. When you're out and about and someone makes eye contact with you say, hi, how are you doing? That's service, because most people will not actually have that conversation. We as human beings and we've talked about this before we want connection, we want to be part of a tribe, we want to be part of a group and we've lost that direction and we've lost some of our why? I want to be able to further our reach in our business, whether it be lending or real estate, to be able to help thousands of families. It might sound like a stretch, but it can be done with enough focus and effort and purpose.

Speaker 1:

Stay staying focused on purpose and why will really change the direction that we will go in, and it could help your business too. There's also passion in there. I have a passion for real estate and is it an up and down rollercoaster because it's a love hate relationship. And is it an up and down roller coaster because it's a love-hate relationship? Yes, and like we spoke about last week on the podcast, I talked about a saying that I have get my past off my today's plate, and that's been part of my struggle is I'm dealing with things in the past that are slowing me down for today and I'm starting to make consistent steps forward on those. I don't want to say headway because it's not quite there yet, but we are making steps forward, so I'm not worried about things in the past. So things are starting to line up.

Speaker 1:

We're starting to focus on our purpose, our passion and our why. But what else do we need to do? We need to be consistent in all three of those areas, and that's another struggle that I've had along this journey is I've not been consistent with purpose, passion and why. But when you're consistent with anything whether it be social media, your business, exercising, getting enough sleep, better health, eating better what tends to happen good things. It might not be instant, because we are looking for that instant gratification, but guess what? Things start changing. You start seeing better results. Oh my gosh, my pants are starting to get loose. Oh my gosh, I can actually run two miles now without stopping. Oh my gosh, I went to the doctor and my blood pressure is great. My blood sugar is good. I'm in the right direction. Those are the things that we need to take as wins.

Speaker 1:

I know when we see these goals, we don't break them down into smaller, bite-sized pieces. I, too, struggle with that Finding a way to put your purpose, your passion and your why into bite-sized chunks so you can actually digest them, be consistent with them every single day, but also look at what you've accomplished, and one of the best ways I know for myself is journaling. I'll go back every so often once a week, twice a week and I look at last year at the same time and look at the things that I was talking about and then look at where I'm at today. It changes, but I'm still making progress every single day, journaling, being consistent. I journal seven days a week. Every single morning, get up, walk most, come back, journal, get ready for the day, get to work. It helps my mindset, it helps my headspace, it truly helps getting me in the right place so I can get my day going.

Speaker 1:

But if we don't hold on and I don't want to say hold on if we do not stay consistent and our passion, our purpose and our why, we lose focus, we lose direction. The train goes off the the tracks, as they say, and I'm living proof of that, because that's how I've felt for several months that I just have lost focus because I'm worried about all these other things. I need to place my concerns, my worries, in my faith that I'm going to be consistent and persistent, I'm going to go after my why and the man upstairs is going to take care of it all. I need to put it out there. Whether you believe in God, the universe, all the above, you've got to be able to be consistent in your thought process and being positive. Easier said than done, but I know from what I've been experiencing for the last several months.

Speaker 1:

It isn't easy, it's a struggle and I don't want to call it a grind, but it is because you get a thought in your mind and it's negative. It's very easy to continue that process and it snowballs and goes and goes. You don't get as many wins. So when you are thinking negatively or you're thinking from a lack of money or lack of whatever scarcity, you will continue to attract that in your business. So what do you have to do? Flip your mindset. That's where the quiet time in the morning helps me. It helps me set my day up for success. Does it work every single day? No, because there's some days that are tougher than others and I struggle. But I'm able to journal, I'm able to get it off my chest, but it allows me to focus on the important tasks that I have for the business, to be able to move it forward, to help as many people as we possibly can, to impact lives.

Speaker 1:

To impact lives, I just need to stay focused on my purpose, my passion and my why Surround myself with other like-minded people that have a lot more skills than I do, that are different to where we can grow the businesses. It's time and effort, guys, but it starts with your mindset and it starts with being consistent. If I haven't stressed that enough, consistency wins the game, the other piece is being persistent, because when you're consistent, there's going to be times you're going to be knocked down. I look at persistent as being. If I get knocked down on my knees, I get back up every single time Doesn't mean that I don't have a pity party for myself, doesn't mean that I don't self-reflect or just have quiet time. But I have to know that there's a certain point in time it stops and we move forward. So, guys, have a good week, stay healthy, stay safe. I'll see you guys on the other side.
