Speaker 1:

Guys, have you ever had one of those weeks where the hits just keep on coming on a project or something you're trying to work on? I must be close to a great, wonderful breakthrough, but the hits just keep on coming on projects we're working on and it just seems like I'm going from fire drill to fire drill, and I know this is part of life, this is part of being a business owner. No-transcript feels like every time I start to get ahead on this transaction it pushes me back and it just the best way I know how to describe it is frustrating. I'm learning because there were some mistakes made, but at the same time I can't correct mistakes I'm not aware of. And that problem is when I'm not intimate with the project in whole at all times. With anything, with whatever you do in life, you sometimes only get the 30,000 foot view, and I know for myself a 30,000 foot view, and I know for myself making sure that I understand what's going on, when it's going on is critical. But in this instance I've done everything I possibly can to stay connected and make sure that I understand all the critical aspects and we still have issues, we're still lagging with troubles. Where's my mindset? Out on this head. My headspace is, I'm stressed, but I have peace because I know there's a resolve and we have to get it done. It's just we're under the gun. But I'm trying to understand, when we have these issues and we have challenges, how do we handle them from a standpoint of improving but also learning and stepping back and saying, okay, what could we do different? Going forward? It really resonates with me because when we're trying to accomplish something, sometimes roadblocks do happen. It's just part of life. But at the same time, how do we handle those roadblocks? Because there's times where roadblocks will knock us down and you got to get back up, and there's times where I want to have a pity party because I'm sick and tired of being beat up all the time. Can you take a moment and figure out where your head is at, get yourself together, move forward? Yes, but you can't stay down. You have to get back up. No-transcript. I may be shaky, I may have some stuff going on that I'm not steady, but I'm getting back up and I'm moving forward. I'm taking one step forward.

Speaker 1:

Two my mindset is I'm going to resolve this matter, work through it and then take the learnings and apply it for future reference. I know that sounds pretty straightforward, but there's times where I don't do that. I just keep on piling forward, moving and I drive right over the speed bump and I drive right over the lesson and I drive right over the solution Three. Once I digest it, I figure out what the problem is, I figure out what the solution is, I figure out what the lesson is. Then I need to make sure I implement that into whatever we're doing, but also share it with the team and then also recap everything that we actually went through, because in the end, if you're not sharing this knowledge with others, how are you growing as a person, as a leader, as a father, as a mother, uncle, aunt?

Speaker 1:

This applies to life. It's not just work, it's life, because things happen in life. People are living longer nowadays, so more than likely we, as children, will have to take care of our aging parents. What does that look like? What are you going to have to do? What type of health concerns God forbid that you have to deal with? You need to slow down. Time is our most valuable asset. But slow down and figure out what these decisions are that you need to make and then move forward. But if you're not listening, taking notes and I say take notes, it's mindset notes to where you can actually understand what's going on, why it happened, how you're resolving it and then what's the lesson. Those are the things that are critical to life.

Speaker 1:

Balancing out life, being present is another thing. How are you going to solve problems if you're not present in the moment? We all have too many things going on a daily basis and I'm guilty of it. I'm trying to multitask on two or three things, getting them to the finish line, solving the problems, when I could back up, focus on one at a time, get that to the finish line, take the most critical item and move it to the finish line, then work on the next ones. But we tend to think that the more we put on our plate, the more successful we're going to be. The next promotion is going to come, the next pay raise is going to come, but how effective are you with multitasking?

Speaker 1:

Running your business, being a mom, being a dad, multitasking, running your business, being a mom, being a dad, being a leader? Think about it being present. How can you be present if you're focused on three or four things at a time and then you've got somebody sitting in front of you and the father goes what? But never puts the newspaper down until finally the kid comes over the top of the newspaper and pushes it down and says why aren't you paying attention to me?

Speaker 1:

That type of stuff is our daily life that we need to be focused in on, to ensure we're present, because when we're present we can avoid problems. You can't make all the problems go away. There's just no way. We're human, there's mistakes to be had, but in the end it's all about how you react. It's how you change your mindset and how you actually become proactive, going forward when you get on the other side of a challenge or an issue, because that issue or challenge can define you, it can change you, it can knock you down to your knees.

Speaker 1:

Whatever the case is, it's how you can actually win from it. Take the lesson, learn mindset change, document, share with others. You do that. Life starts changing, because then you're starting to learn from every aspect of your life. And is it going to be perfect? No, but we're moving forward and we're getting better at problem solving, being present, respecting others when they're in front of us to solve a problem. We have to change our mindset. We have to make sure we're present and we have to be solely focused on the challenge at hand that's going to get our project to the finish line. Stay safe, stay healthy.
