Speaker 1:

So hope versus fate in your business. I wanted to dig in a little bit more about what's going on in my life, personally and professionally, but also how to differentiate between hope and faith. Believe in God, whatever? In this video, we're also going to talk about hope and how to put yourself in the right position, through the guidance of God, to be able to have a sustainable business that allows you to grow, give back to others but, better yet, be fulfilled and not be anxious and have purpose and passion.

Speaker 1:

So this week, guys, it's just been part of a struggle up and down, and there's been some really good things that have happened, and then there's been some really not so good things happen that have happened, and then there's been some really not so good things happen. But through all of it I have to have faith that it's all going to work out, take place, and at times I don't even know if I can say I hope, because I'm anxious, I'm worried, in a position of lack, to where my mindset is not thinking abundance like it should be, and it becomes harder and harder to really switch your mindset to a position of abundance, to happiness, to faith, to hope. When you're in the fire man, you're in the storm, you're in the actual weeds and it's all hitting the fan at the same time. What can we do? I've got quiet time that I start my day with journaling, reading some scripture, but, better yet, getting my mindset straight to where I'm thankful to wake up in the morning. There's people every single day that had plans to wake up this morning and didn't. So that's the very first thing that I talk about and I thank God for, is that I'm able to wake up this morning and continue to tell my story.

Speaker 1:

The rest of the day is a journey. It's a roller coaster because I struggle with the mindset of being abundant and also being strong, where I'm not anxious about all the things that are happening. I ground myself during the day, go out for a walk just to make sure I'm on point. But I'm just like anybody else. I'm a healer being. I've got challenges and the only way I know how to get through those challenges is to have faith and hope and really have that connection with God. That's how I have to get through life on a daily basis. But this part of life is all-encompassing. It's not just my personal life, it's my business life too, and making sure that I'm on point and every single day. I don't know if it's because I've been in the fire for so long and it just becomes part of the routine, or is it that I'm just getting numb? It just seems like I've been fighting and fighting and I'm just looking for peace and I'm looking to have things calm down. We get things done to the finish line. They're sold. We're moving forward.

Speaker 1:

I don't have a constant battle on my mind and that's pretty much where I'm at is it's I'm constantly battling. My mind has a lot of things going through it and I know I have to stay hyper-focused on the task at hand. And I know we've talked about it and I'm going to say it again I do have a task list. I do have quiet time. I do put out the task list for myself on a daily basis so I can stay focused, accomplish those things, but also know that it helps bring revenue generating topics to the finish line.

Speaker 1:

I do get distracted by my cell phone on a daily basis text messages and emails and anxiety and being anxious about what's going on in today and in the future, when I've read enough books and read scripture in the Bible and anxiety just kills today's momentum for something we don't know. That's going to happen tomorrow. So why do we do it? That's the million dollar question, and I don't have an answer because I struggle with it. All I know is I'm pushing to become a better person, a better leader, and being anxious on a daily basis does not work. Being anxious on a daily basis does not work. Staying focused on what needs to be done does work, but until I get there and know that I'm going to get better at it, I'm going to struggle on a daily basis. I have a few people they're not in my state where I live, so I can call them and talk to them. But I need to find more individuals that are local to be able to help me in tough times, be able to bounce ideas off and just connect with other like-minded people that are struggling with the same items. I am Because, ultimately, putting a tribe around myself is going to work. It's going to help me, it's going to allow me to grow.

Speaker 1:

But it's tough to open up, it's tough to talk to other people that potentially are strangers. If that's going to be difficult for me or not to be able to open up and say here are my challenges, here are my problems. I can tell you on the surface it is Because I don't like dumping my problems on other people, and that's how it feels. And in business, it's tough to talk to people about your struggles in business because it's the same thing like in your personal life. Why do you want to make yourself vulnerable to somebody that you don't know and he or she could potentially use it against you or whatever the case is. It's hard. People get their hearts broken in relationships. I don't get my heart broken in professional relationships but it can be daunting and even embarrassing if someone decides to share your struggles with somebody they shouldn't have shared, or they blast you or put it out there. But it's not going to stop me from reaching out and connecting with other like-minded people. Now, is it going to make me hesitant on how much I share and when I share? Yes, as I feel more comfortable. Can it get better? I think so.

Speaker 1:

Just like anything else, sometimes you have to just step into the water and see where it takes you, and I'm not sure I'm ready to jump into the deep end, but I'm willing to give it a run and see where it goes. I just have a mindset of I'm dumping my problems on somebody else. Why would I want them to dump it on me? That's how I view it, and I feel bad when I do that. So I try not to share as much information as possible, just for the simple fact, my mindset is I'm dumping on them. So, all right, guys, that's it for this week. It's okay to struggle with your mindset. It's okay to try to find your path, your purpose, and have faith and hope in all of this, whether personal or professional, but in the end, find a tribe that you can connect with. Hope you guys have a good one. I'll talk to you guys on the other side.
